In Myanmar (formerly Burma), the number of dengue and malaria cases is increasing. Therefore, a cooperation was established with the University of Yangon, resulting in the identification of breeding sites of the primary malaria vector Anopheles dirus, the study of its role in malaria transmission, and the development of an identification key for Anopheles mosquitoes. The project was financially supported by KAAD.
