Our projects

Scientific research & international cooperation

The projects of the Society for the Promotion of Mosquito Control (GFS) combine applied research, international collaboration, and practical solutions for vector control. The focus lies on environmentally responsible control strategies, reducing disease-transmitting mosquito populations, and ensuring the long-term protection of both people and the environment. Our work is interdisciplinary, evidence-based, and carried out in close cooperation with local and international partners.

Further development of biological control strategies against Aedes and Culex species, with a focus on the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus), through the use and optimization of microbial methods such as Bti.
Monitoring of mosquitoes in Germany to analyze distribution and seasonal dynamics – a foundation for research and control strategies.
EU-funded Interreg project focused on protecting birds of prey and studying mosquito-borne infections in the Danube regions.
